Cheddar, Buttermilk & Herb Biscuits

Makes 10 biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup buttermilk, divided
  • 1 stick butter, divided into quarters
  • 1 cup grated Conebella Farm mild cheddar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, herbs and salt in a food processor with a metal blade.
  3. Add butter, one quarter at a time and mix until well blended.
  4. Add Conebella Farm mild cheddar and mix.
  5. Slowly add 3/4 cup buttermilk until mixture comes together. (It should still be sticky.)
  6. Drop biscuits onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes, or until golden.
  8. Brush with remaining milk
